Chicago Federation of Labor Statement on Passage of the Cook County Budget

CFL President Reiter: County budget “provides continued stability for Cook County and the countless residents who rely on essential county services”

CHICAGO – Chicago Federation of Labor President Bob Reiter released the following statement in response to the passage of the county budget by the Cook County Board of Commissioners:

“Today’s passage of the county budget provides continued stability for Cook County and the countless residents who rely on essential county services. I applaud Cook County President Toni Preckwinkle for her steadfast leadership in guiding the county through the budgetary process, and I thank the Board of Commissioners for their work in analyzing and passing the plan. In addition, for the future stability of county services, I urge the Board of Commissioners to consider including natural growth in their property tax revenue planning, just as most municipalities do around the state.”
