Tentative agreement sends Evergreen Park teachers back to school

An all-night negotiation session yields a tentative agreement to let teachers go back to school on Monday

Evergreen Park teachers on strikeThe Evergreen Park Federation of Teachers has reached a Tentative Agreement October 12, after eleven hours of negotiations. The strike has been officially suspended and school will resume on Monday, October 15.

The union leadership has determined that it is in the best interests of the union members and the community to cancel the rally planned for Saturday, October 13. The teachers sent a huge thanks to everyone in the labor movement for their support throughout this difficult contract dispute.

The union was seeking a contract that was less than the last agreement but that held the line on increasing health care costs and fought off other cuts proposed by the school board.
