State of the State January 2018

Governor Rauner has no business serving as CEO of Illinois

Chicago Federation of Labor President Jorge Ramirez released the following statement in response to today’s State of the State address:

“Over the last three years, Governor Rauner has not once demonstrated any ability to lead a bipartisan effort on anything. The only reason Illinois has a budget today is because House and Senate Republicans broke with the governor and crossed party lines to work with Democrats to do what is in the best interest of the state. Today’s address was the same disingenuous rhetoric he’s attempted to push on the people of Illinois since becoming governor. To use language he understands, Governor Rauner has no business serving as the CEO of this state.”
