Distinguished Labor Leader Lecture featuring Richard Trumka

The Chicago Federation of Labor and the IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law Institute for Law and the Workplace are proud to welcome AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka for a special lecture on October 6

AFL-CIO President Richard L. Trumka will be the special guest at this year's Distinguished Labor Leader Lecture sponsored by the Chicago Federation of Labor and the Chicago-Kent College of Law Institute for Law and the Workplace on Thursday, October 6.

Mr. Trumka was elected President of the AFL-CIO on September 16, 2009 after serving 15 years as Secretary-Treasurer.  Growing up in the Pennsylvania coalfields, he worked in the mines, attended Penn State University and received a law degree from Villanova University.  At age 33, he was elected the United Mine Workers' youngest president.
