Women Build Nations Returns to Chicago

Approximately 1,700 women attended the 2017 Women Build Nations conference that was held in Chicago for the second straight year. The conference is for women whowork in construction or are interested in exploring a career in construction.

Throughout the two-day conference in October, the women listened to presentations from various speakers and had an opportunity to interact with other women from all across the globe. In addition, many handson demonstrations were available as 12 different building trades set up booth displays. Attendees got a glimpse into the careers of women in the various union construction trades. The building trades that were represented were Painters & Drywall Finishers, Bricklayers, Tuckpointers, Ceramic Tile Setters, Operating Engineers, Laborers, Electricians, Iron Workers, Architectural Iron Workers, Heat & Frost Insulators, Plumbers, and Elevator Constructors.
