Working men and women in Chicago call on the US Senate to extend aid to the jobless and put people back to work

Working men and women today called on the United States Senate to start replacing the more than 8 million jobs that have been lost during the current recession.

Marching at Federal Plaza, dozens of activists led by Jobs with Justice set up an impromptu "Senate Soup Kitchen" and demanded swift action to bail out the millions of American workers who have been devastated by the recession.  They want to see jobless benefits extended and expanded, including COBRA and food assistance, and a federal jobs program paid for by a tax on Wall Street speculators.
