A report on September jobs released by the U.S. Department of Labor shows that, despite creating 110,000 jobs, unemployment rates continue to worsen. Most of the jobs created were in the service sector while the manufacturing and construction industries continue to lose jobs. According to the report, "Health care, food services, and professional and technical services all continued to add jobs, while employment in manufacturing, construction, and employment services remained on a downward trend." Over the last year, almost a quarter of a million manufacturing jobs have been lost in the U.S. For an analysis of the report visit the AFL-CIO Now Blog
