Wal-Mart's plans to build up to five new stores in Chicago include tentative plans for supercenters in South Side wards where the aldermen voted against a proposal to raise wages for employees, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.  The plans, coming on the heels of Mayor Daley's veto of the Big Box Living Wage Ordinance, break promises the company had previously made to the community and elected officials not to build supercenters in Chicago.

Supercenters, which sell groceries, drive down the wages of its supermarket competitors in the community.
